Hours Hours are by appointment only. We do our best to accommodate your schedule offering early morning, day and evening appointments. Our Graduate Interns and PLPCs offer limited weekend appointments. We also ask that you be flexible with us to ensure we can get you in sooner!
Payment Details
For LPCs, session fee is $100 for individual and 115 for Family Counseling. Provisional Therapists have a separate fees, please speak to the individual therapist to coordinate fees.
Client's session fee, is due at the time of service. Step by Step Counseling, LLC accepts cash, check or credit cards for session payments. Credit card options are Mastercard, Visa and Discover.
Depending on what the client may need for their own records (Or for third party reimbursement), a receipt for payments and appointment dates can be given monthly, or quarterly. New clients should speak to their therapist to discuss their preferences.
Reduced Fees
Limited sliding scale and student fee slots available, please mention this when scheduling your first appointment. Our sliding scale looks at the client's annual income and takes into consideration extreme factors or number of dependents in the home.
Graduate Level Interns
The fee for an intern is $25.00 a session for individual therapy and marriage/couples counseling. If interested in this option please contact our main number, 636-255-0002 and specifically ask about the graduate interns and their availability. Intern sliding scale is available with income verification.
Cancellation policy
Client must cancel or reschedule their appointment 24 hours ahead of the scheduled appointment time, or the client is charged the entire session fee. The client's credit card on file will be charged.
Managed Care/ Using your Insurance
At Step by Step Counseling, LLC, if a client chooses to use their insurance and the therapist is not paneled, the client's therapist will expect full payment upfront and will provide the client with a receipt (Monthly or Quarterly) for the client to submit to their insurance company on their own. The client is responsible for seeking reimbursement from the insurance company.
Questions to ask your insurance company in regards to out of network benefits:
- Do I have out of network mental health benefits?
- What are they?
- What is the coverage per session
- Before deductible is met
- After deductible is met
- What do I need to do, to obtain reimbursement??
- What is my annual deductible?
- What is my deductible balance
- Do I have a general medical deductible or do I have a separate one for mental health?
Employee Assistance Programs
Client must see their employer for more information. Typically employers pay some or all costs involved.
